HISTORY
In 16 and 15 B.C., the Romans (Druso and Tiberio), conquered and directed the alpine territory, pushing it forward to the shores of the Danube.
There, they found a rural and well developed civilization which had arranged a big net of commerce relationships along the valleys.
The Romans, a minority compared to the natives, built military bastions and roads.
They divided the territory (Tridentum) into three regions: Venetia Histria, Noricum, and Raetia.
This period of the Roman occupation lasted for five centuries and had a great impact upon the language and the lifestyle of the Natives.
Many folks with different dialect decided to adopt a common language, the Retro- Roman.
